BCAA’s – Branched Chain Amino Acids

Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA’s) help reduce muscle loss associated with fat loss exercise and diets. Your muscles use BCAA’s as fuel, which helps avoid burning your own muscles as fuel during extended exercise.

BCAA's can also assist with enhancing performance through their ability to spare glycogen during training. Glycogen is found as stored carbohydrates within muscle tissue and the liver, and is the preferred energy source for working muscles during high intensity exercise. Glycogen availability and preservation is therefore very important if you want to train hard for longer periods of time.

Ingesting BCAAs before and during training can result in glycogen levels being spared by up to 25%.
